Why we built Memorento

My girlfriend was turning 40, so of course I had to come up with something good. With time running short, I made a giant A0 poster of our best moments. It was the ultimate eye-catcher of the evening, and it got extra personal when guests started writing on it.

Now a homemade work of art full of loving wishes and inside jokes hangs on our wall. Because I saw how much work it is to do this by hand, we built Memorento: quick, simple and straight from your own Mac.

Our golden tip: With Printed artwork, put a few markers next to the poster at the party and ask guests to write a message around the mosaic. Framing it later? Let them write first. We used edding 750 creative paint markers. See it on the poster ↓

Twice the joy: an eye-catcher at the party and long after

The sample artwork, a 30 made of Lotte’s photos with LOTTE above it, printed on dark green paper and taped to a grey wall under string lights.

On the wall

A smile on the wall, for years. This is not just a poster, it is a time capsule. The gift they unwrap right away, and a memory that stays.

The Immersive video on a TV above a wooden sideboard in a living room: one of the AI-made photos of Lotte, a made-up woman, comes forward from the mosaic of her photos.

On screen or TV

Instant atmosphere at the party: the video draws every eye in the room. Years of photos flow together into the artwork. It is the perfect icebreaker that gets guests sharing memories.
