The family’s year, as a Christmas tree

A Christmas tree made of photos on white, with “The Jansens” above it and “Merry Christmas, Nana” below. Framed on the wall of a living room on Christmas Eve, beside the lit Christmas tree, above a sideboard with candles, pine branches and presents.

Memorento runs on your Mac, where your photos are. Free to make. You approve every photo before you pay. macOS 14 or later.

Every December the same question: what do we get the grandparents? They have everything already, and what they really want is the grandchildren. You can’t wrap those. You can wrap their year. With Memorento you fill the shape of a Christmas tree with the photos of the past twelve months: the camping trip, the first day at school, the birthday cake that came out of the oven lopsided. The family name on top, your own Christmas greeting underneath.

A Christmas present that stays up

A Christmas tree made of photos on white, with “The Jansens” above it and “Merry Christmas, Nana” below. The same artwork framed, on a wall.

A photo book goes back on the shelf after the holidays. A Christmas tree made of photos goes on the wall. From across the room it’s a clean, festive tree; up close, every bauble turns out to be a moment: a swimming certificate, last year’s Christmas dinner, a selfie at the top of a mountain.

That’s why it works for almost anyone you want to give something to in December:

  • For the grandparentsThe grandchildren’s year in one poster, with “Merry Christmas, Nana” underneath, like the Jansens’ tree. The present they’re still standing in front of in February.
  • For your own familyA new tradition: a tree every year, with the year on it. Ten years from now you have a row on the wall that tells the whole story.
  • From the whole familyBrothers, sisters and cousins add their photos through a private link, so the tree belongs to everyone, not to one phone.

Christmas Eve: lights down, Immersive video on

Made with AI

The poster is the present; the Immersive video is the moment. With every package the app makes a film for the TV: the year’s photos pass by one by one and come together as the tree at the end. One to five minutes, in Full HD or 4K.

Put it on after Christmas dinner while everyone is still at the table. The kids point at themselves, someone starts on that one holiday, and only when the picture stands still does the poster come out from under the tree. The Show Player plays it on a TV with no computer next to it, too.

How the Immersive video works →

Made in a few minutes, right on your Mac

Sorting through a whole year of photos sounds like an evening’s work. It doesn’t have to be: Memorento does the searching on your own Mac. Your photos aren’t uploaded and there’s no account to create.

  • Choose who’s in it

A person, a couple or an album, like ‘Summer 2026’. The year filter keeps it to this year’s photos.

  • The app does the puzzle

Choose the Christmas tree and within minutes the photos are in place. Six designs appear; you pick one.

  • You finish it

Swap any photo you’d rather not see, choose the background, and add a name on top and a greeting below. Trying is free, as often as you like.

Under the tree on time

We deliver printed and framed posters within the Netherlands for now. Order well before the holidays: before you pay, the app shows the day it will arrive, and our Christmas page lists this year’s last order date.

Running late? The digital artwork and the film are yours the moment you buy. The digital artwork is a print-ready file, so a local print shop can print it for you too.

What you get

The sample poster up close: about 190 small photographs form a Christmas tree on a white background, with “The Jansens” above it and “Merry Christmas, Nana” and 2026 below; the print is taped to a dark green wall.
A real poster, made by the app from 188 photos: the year of the (imaginary) Jansens as a Christmas tree, printed and taped to the wall. Your own photos, name and words take their place.

Questions about a Christmas photo gift

What’s a personal Christmas gift for grandparents?

A poster in the shape of a Christmas tree, filled with the grandchildren’s photos from the past year, with their names or a Christmas greeting on it. It’s personal, it hangs on the wall instead of sitting in a cupboard, and with the Immersive video you look back on the year together on Christmas Eve.

Can I make something other than a tree?

Yes. Besides the Christmas tree, the app makes a heart or a star, a number of up to four digits such as the year, or a word of up to five letters such as NANA or HOME.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Memorento reads your Photos library on your own Mac and builds the poster there. Only when you order a print does the finished print file go to our print partner. Your library itself never leaves your Mac.

How much does a Christmas photo poster cost?

Designing in the app is free, with no account, as often as you like. You only pay when you choose: the digital artwork, a printed or framed poster, with or without the Immersive video. Every price is listed above and on the pricing page.

Does it work on Windows, an iPhone or an iPad?

No, Memorento is a Mac app, for Apple silicon and Intel. Grandparents without a Mac don’t need one: you make the poster and give it printed, framed or as a file.

Hang this whole year on one tree

Download the free app on your Mac, choose the Christmas tree and watch the year’s photos find their place. You only pay when you want to keep it.
